DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide, INN emideltide) is a nonapeptide isolated by Schoenenberger and Monnier from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits and characterized in 1977. No gene, precursor or dedicated receptor has been identified, which has kept its biology an open research question.
